Release Hub

Corsair Cove is out now. Limbic Entertainment — the studio behind Tropico 6 — and publisher Hooded Horse shipped full 1.0 worldwide on July 31, 2026 as a complete release, not an early access beta. After years of previews and a polished Steam demo, the vertical pirate city builder arrived on Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, Microsoft Store, and PC Game Pass with 500,000+ Steam wishlists at launch, a 25% intro discount on standard $39.99 USD, and Very Positive day-one reviews near 85% on Steam.

This release hub gathers every launch-related page on the wiki. Use it whether you are buying today, installing through Game Pass, testing the still-free demo, or checking whether your PC can handle thousands of pirates climbing ziplines between sawmills.

Full launch: July 31, 2026 — out now

Hooded Horse confirmed Corsair Cove skips early access entirely. The July 31 launch was a finished version 1.0 on PC with Story and Sandbox modes and three unique tropical islands — Skull Rock, Ship Graveyard, and Devil’s Basin. The studio leaned on the free demo to gather feedback instead of charging players for an unfinished build.

The core pitch remains consistent: build a pirate haven vertically across cliffs and hilltops, manage more than fifty production goods, keep a rowdy crew fed and drunk, and sail against Crown hunters who want the Golden Age of Piracy dead. Turn-based naval combat with cards and dice sits on top of the city builder, so your settlement stats directly feed fleet strength.

Pricing and launch discount

Standard retail price is $39.99 USD with regional equivalents on Epic, GOG, and Microsoft Store. Hooded Horse ran a 25% launch discount bringing the effective price to roughly $29.99 on participating storefronts. On Steam, the intro offer runs through approximately August 14, 2026.

Try before you buy: the demo

A free playable demo went live on Steam on May 28, 2026 under app ID 3858730, separate from the full game listing at 1368140. The demo remains free after launch. It opens with Amara’s escape story—you break free from a Crown pirate hunter’s flagship and wash ashore on an uninhabited island where your settlement begins. It includes the opening acts of four major story questlines, vertical building tutorials, supply chain basics, and your first voyage to Skull Rock.

Read the full Corsair Cove demo guide for what is included, how long it takes, and what carries over to the paid game. The demo also appeared at Steam Next Fest starting June 15, 2026.

Where to buy and play

Corsair Cove is available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, GOG, and the Microsoft Store. PC Game Pass subscribers get access without a separate purchase. Console versions have not been announced. See platforms and Game Pass details for storefront links and subscription notes.

System requirements

Official PC specs are modest for a modern strategy title but not trivial once your cove grows dense with buildings and drifters. Minimum requirements call for Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i7-7700 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600, 8 GB RAM, and a GTX 1660 Super or RX 5600 XT with 6 GB VRAM. Recommended specs bump to a Core i5-9600K or Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM, and an RTX 2070 or RX 6600 XT. Both tiers list 30 GB storage and recommend an SSD.

The system requirements page breaks down what each tier means for vertical maps, large pirate populations, and late-game naval encounters.

What to read after install

New players should pair release planning with gameplay guides. Start with Getting Started and Beginner Mistakes for the first-hour checklist after Amara’s escape, then explore vertical building once tents stop feeling cramped. Production-focused readers should bookmark supply chains and production chains before the full game’s fifty-plus goods overwhelm your warehouses.

Combat curious captains should read naval combat before sailing to Skull Rock, and anyone planning long-term progression should study the Technology Compass guide. Crew happiness is not optional—see crew morale for galley, tavern, and cohesion tips.

Game modes and first session

Retail ships Story and Sandbox modes across three home islands — read game modes before the main menu. Launch day guide covers the 14:00 UTC unlock, Game Pass install, GOG parity, and first-hour priorities — still useful as a first-session reference after launch.

Limbic’s official Beginner’s Guide YouTube series is mapped on Limbic video guides — watch EP2 and EP3 if logistics or naval combat still confuse you.

Localization and post-launch support

The full game ships with localization into German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. The demo was not fully localized into every language — check Steam notes for the latest locale list in the trial build.

Hooded Horse and Limbic used demo feedback to polish vertical pathing, zipline routing, and naval UI ahead of July 31. Post-launch hotfixes and balance tweaks appear on Steam news and our Updates hub.

Quick release checklist

Confirm your platform—Steam, Epic, Microsoft Store, or Game Pass. Verify your PC against recommended specs if you plan large multi-camp colonies. Play the demo to learn pirate camps, drifters, fetchers, and the Technology Compass deed loop if you have not yet. Read the guides linked above so your first retail session is expansion, not remedial homework. Corsair Cove rewards preparation, and the Crown does not wait for you to finish a tutorial.
